“The Power of Listening” Msgr. Thomas Brady

Lorrie Gramer

Msgr. Brady brings his many years of listening together in this guidebook for anyone who wants to listen and understand. He says the book summarizes what he has learned as a counselor and while conducting seminars and workshops that help people become better listeners. Over the years, Msgr. Brady has developed a theology of “listening as discipleship.” He says people can be better disciples of Christ when they learn how to “die to themselves” and listen with unconditional acceptance and understanding. That makes it possible, he explains for people to experience God’s unconditional love and for the Christ immanent in everyone to come forth and help shape their lives – a process he calls “redemptive listening.”
